Civil Procedure and Alternatives to Litigation

This stream considers two related and rapidly developing areas of law: civil procedure and alternative dispute resolution. In particular, the area of civil procedure is attracting a great deal of interest, especially in the light of Lord Justice Briggs’ Civil Court Structure Review in which he has recommended the introduction of an online court for certain civil claims.

 

Areas of interest for this stream include (but are not limited to):

• Rules of civil procedure;

• All aspects of the Civil Justice System, including the issue of costs;

• Civil justice reforms;

• Alternative Dispute Resolution methods (mediation, arbitration, negotiation; adjudication etc).
